Memory of Edgware School:
|
Too many, but here's a
few....Dave Smith, Nick Hedger, Mrs Simpson, Mrs
Gokulsing (spelling?),Mrs Evans, Mrs Mardlin, Mrs
Larkin's typing classes, Rick Parker, Mrs Tobin,
Flabby Abby (Mrs Abner, Home Ec), Mr Buckingham,
Miss Rowland, sobbing for hours after Mr Hodgkins
didn't enter me for arithmetic CSE,
hating hockey, the legendary
Rob Reid and of course Minehead - I tell my kids
about that week even now! The 6th form library with
Jon Roycroft, Ian, Macko, Annette and Carol being
on
the "popular" side, with us
straight-laced girlies on the other - Caroline
Mortimore, Cheryl Edwardes, Donatella Peduzzi,
Judith Leigh and many, many more. Where are Amanda
Skidmore, Tracy Felberg, Lisa Garfield, Christine
Flowers, Mark Hurley, the Lanes, Chadrika, Munira
Desai? Drinking brandy and coke with Aba.
Waiting at the 107 bus stop
with Andrew and Nigel Coster.
Remember the 32 bus that
never came - bazooka bubblegum from the kiosk at
Edgware station? So many memories - there's no
excuse for us all not going to the reunion - other
than we're all too ashamed of being 40 (nearly),
fat and scared! Thanks Jon for
sorting us all out. My Mum
who was school secretary after we left is still in
touch with Ted Crook, Ifor Jones (he of the
paracetamol for period pains!) and Mike Welch -
will get
an update from her. It's
brilliant reading the comments from you all - keep
it going!

Notes:
|
Happily living in Maidenhead,
Berkshire with husband Carl and kids Amy 11, and
Alistair 8. ( Incidentally discovered this site on
the day Amy started at secondary school!) Did Home
Economics at Sheffield Poly, worked at Eastern Gas
in Potters Bar until 1993.
Gave up work for kids in 1993
and am now a lady who lunches and a school
governor. Still great friends with Judith Leigh, my
bridesmaid and nearly a relative as she lives with
my cousin Our 11 year old daughters are the best of
friends.
