Memory of Edgware School:
|
We had a wonderful social
life there, there were so many Jewish kids,
we
had our own assembly. I
remeber the teachers, eg Mr. Blindt, Mr. Laniado
to
name a few. Although I could
not wait to leave school and go to work, I
missed
all my friends. They were
happy carefree days.I appeared in the school play,
The Prince who was a Piper, starring Terry Shefras.
I played a maiden and had to dance across the
stage and kneel down in front of him and say "Oh,
but you have such a handsome face!" I think I
really said it with feeling. Also the Jewish
assembley, we had such a lot of people attending,
it was really very nice, even the teachers took
part. I also remember Mr. Blindt, he used to be
able to throw the chalk backwards to hit the child
who was talking. I used to be friendly with Pat
Green, Tina Rose, Sandra Osterwiel, Caroline and
Benita Franklin, (the twins), Louise Finkel,
Valerie Dvorkin, and various boys. If anyone
remembers me, please contact me, I would love to
have a reunion with everyone.

Notes:
|
I live in Edgware not
far from the school in Hillside Gardens. I am a
secretary
and and
hairdresser/manicurist. I currently work in a
Doctor's surgery as
secretary and receptionist. I
am married for the second time, with two sons aged
27 and 29. I am married for the 2nd time to Howard
and very happy. He has three daughters! I work in
a Doctors' surgery as receptionist/secretary. I
did hairdressing for over 30 years. I am also
doing manicuring and am about to take a further
course in Nail Art, and hope to make this my career
in future.
